I like to outline on a yellow legal pad and then type a beat-sheet into Word and print it out. Thought it looked snazzy though, at first, and decided to ask if anyone here knew anything about it.

There is a free download that I haven't tried yet. Just wondering if anyone has used NovaMind or heard anything about it. Seems like a decent program for $100.00, even better with the 30% educational discount.

You can export your scripts via RTF, FCF, PDF or TXT format to Movie Magic, Final Draft, text edit, Word, etc. The program also has a built-in screenplay formatting module that properly formats what you type to standard industry formats: movie, play, TV. Sure, you can do it on a yellow legal pad or any piece of paper-you can also write longhand or on a typewriter-but being able to do it on a computer and save the file is kind of cool. It's effective for note taking, brainstorming, planning, organization, outlining, etc. You then take each of those initial words and again draw the 5 to 10 main ideas.and so on.
A mind map consists of a central word or concept, around the central word you draw the 5 to 10 main ideas that relate to that word.
